Johnson & Johnson neemt sectorgenoot Intra-Cellular Therapies over voor omgerekend 14,6 miljard dollar. Dit werd maandag bekend.
Johnson & Johnson betaalt 132,00 dollar per aandeel in contanten voor de fabrikant van lumateperone, een medicijn tegen onder meer schizofrenie.
De deal wordt naar verwachting later dit jaar afgerond, afhankelijk van goedkeuring van aandeelhouders en toezichthouders.
“Deze overname differentieert onze portfolio verder en dient als een strategische groeikatalysator op korte en lange termijn”, zei CEO Joaquin Duato van Johnson & Johnson maandag in een toelichting.
Aandelen Intra-Cellular noteerden maandag in de voorbeurshandel 35 procent hoger. Johnson & Johnson noteerde licht hoger.
