Mondiale staalproductie opnieuw gedaald
De mondiale staalproductie is in februari opnieuw gedaald. Dit bleek dinsdag uit cijfers van brancheorganisatie World Steel Association.
In totaal produceerden de 69 staalproducerende landen vorige maand 144,7 miljoen ton staal, wat 3,4 procent minder was dan een jaar geleden. In januari en februari samen daalde de productie met 2,2 procent, tot 302,0 miljoen ton.
In China, wereldwijd met afstand de grootste fabrikant van staal, daalde de productie in februari met 3,3 procent naar 78,9 miljoen ton staal.
In Duitsland daalde de productie in februari met 13,5 procent op jaarbasis. In de Europese Unie was er een productiekrimp van 7,1 procent op jaarbasis. En in de VS daalde de productie vorige maand met 7,0 procent. In Japan was er een krimp van 8,5 procent.
